There are always different kinds of cleaning methods and equipment used for each distinguished flooring and material. Whether you are considering a professional cleaning session for your home or your professional space, you should know each cleaning method, how it works, and its pros and cons.

Knowing the differences will save you from frustration and any damage to your property, as using the wrong method can greatly affect your flooring material and its durability. Waxing, Striping, and Buffing are the most commonly used cleaning methods for floors. Here is a detailed analysis of each one so you can understand the difference better.

Waxing

As the name implies, floor waxing is the procedure that uses extra amounts of wax to treat and clean your floor. The layers of wax help to provide protection and luster to your flooring as an added effect. There are mainly two waxes used in this process, the liquid wax and the solid wax.

While liquid wax is beneficial for real hardwood flooring, it also lasts longer than solid wax. The other type of wax, solid wax, is good for both real hardwood flooring and linoleum flooring.

Waxing helps your floor eliminate scratches and lines, making it appear brighter and shinier. A proper coating and renewal of floor waxing can effectively make your floor look new.

Stripping

Floor stripping is another way to clean your floor of dirt, wax stains, or build-up. Floor stripping is often confused with floor scrubbing, as scrubbing only cleans out the stains and dirt from the floor. At the same time, floor stripping is done through a machine that contains specific solutions to treat your floor.

This procedure takes very little time and effectively cleans and treats your floor with a finished look, giving it its original look back. Regular floor stripping keeps your floor clean from any stains, grime, and grease marks while not implementing any harsh solvents on your floor.

Buffing

Buffing can be considered a skin treatment for your floor as it exfoliates the surface of your floor. Floor buffing can be done for all floors as it is not as a restrictive method as stripping and waxing.

Buffing can be done in two ways: dry and spray buffing. While spray buffing requires a liquid to clean your floor, dry buffing uses a buffer machine that goes above 1000 rotations every minute. This procedure not only cleans your floor but also smoothes out the surface.

Floor buffing is an effective way to treat any damage and imperfection on your floor. It not only cleans the floor but also increases its life and durability-though, adding a layer of protection to it.

Conclusion,

The three most commonly used ways of floor cleaning, provide the best results for cleaning your surface and surrounding. Depending on the nature of your floor and the results you require, you can opt for any method between stripping, waxing, or buffing to have the optimum results.
